Mini Musical Marvels
Objects from everyday life make for marvelous music!
Mounted atop this table are various kinds of surfaces and day-to-day objects that make extremely quiet but beautiful sounds, such as a Lamellophone made of popsicle sticks, a circular saw blade, an egg slicer and a bubble-bottle. Like a microscope for sounds, a Piezo microphone is used to acoustically magnify these noises so players can hear them. The sounds can be amplified with compressors, special effects and a mixer. The headphones let all the players hear each other and be heard.
