With applause around the world

  • Duration:  45 minutes
  • Stage: 4x3 meters (optional)
  • Audience: families and children from 4 and up
  • Suitable for open air events
  • Equipment: can be provided by MMM

Showcasing one of the world’s most unique collections of musical hand-sounds, this fun-filled show introduces children to the basics of tone colors, meter, beat and tempo. The cheek-popper, the head drum, the East Indian tala cycles, the flamenco clapping trap, the Balinese quick clapping rhythms and the Moroccan slow clapping rhythms, and the hand movements of Polynesian dance beckon the whole family to participate in this adventurous experience. Stories about the various clapping sounds provide information as to their musical-historical background. For the thundering finale, fifteen different applause techniques introduce the audience to the musical cultures of every continent.
