Mini Musical Marvels

Objects from everyday life make for marvelous music!

Mounted atop this table are various kinds of surfaces and everyday objects that make extremely quiet but beautiful sounds, such as a Lamellophone made of popsicle sticks, a circular saw blade, an egg slicer and a bubble-bottle. Like a microscope for sounds, a Piezo microphone is used to acoustically magnify these noises so players can hear them. The sounds can be amplified with compressors, special effects and a mixer. The headphones let all the players hear each other and be heard.
